 Directors Meeting

Thedford, NE

Meeting called to order by President LuAnn Werdel. Adult Directors present: Blevins, Butterfield, Cover, Cross, Coffman, Gorsuch, Lemmon, Lovitt, Peterson, Sierks, Wearin and Schaffer. Student Directors present: Schafer, Moon, Dobbins, Millsap, Coffman, J Cover, M Cover, Daly, Harwager, Hinman, Johnson, Oatman. Secretaries Daily and Edelman, guests Boyd Mignery, Lee Hogan, Sandy Himmelberg, Lori Schafer and Lisa Millsap.

Minutes and Treasurers report were read and approved.

Lori Schafer gave the calendar report.

Tricia Schaffer gave the scholarship report.

As of January 11, 09, we have 237 members.

Discussion was held on the winter banquet. Some ideas were discussed to add to the revenue generated from the banquet. The banquet committee will meet and bring back their recommendation to the board at a later date.

The Hastings Committee had a few suggestions for change.

1. Registration on Wednesday from 8:30 to 1:30

2. Evening perfs starting at 6:30 pm, so there is time for more extracurricular activities.

3. Possibly having an Entry Fee

4. Possibility of an increase in stall rent.

The board will discuss these suggestions at their next board meeting.The two suggestions on registration and performance times were voted on and approved.

Sponsorship materials will be mailed out and follow up calls will be made.

Discussion on awards was followed by a vote on awarding saddle certificates instead of having the saddles at the State Finals. It was passed that saddle certificates will be awarded this year, then each champion can have the saddle made to their own specifications.

Spring schedule will be finalized in February. Imperials rodeo will be held in McCook.

The Spur Logo is used for awards at State Finals only.
