Director Meeting

November 4, 2007

The Nebraska High School Rodeo Association held their directors meeting Sunday, November 4, 2007 at North Platte.  President Loren Gorsuch called the meeting to order.  Board members present were Kelli Blevins, Tim Cover, Adam Cross, Cindy Coffman, JD Hoover, Mark Lovitt, Lori Schafer, Tim Sierks, Andy Wearnin, Tricia Schaffer and secretary’s Becky Dailey and Nancy Edelman.

Tim Sierks moved to approve the minutes as read, seconded by Kelli Blevins.  Motion carried.

Financial Report;

Todd Adamson proposed to mail out ballots for the election of adult directors and he also proposed splitting the state into regions.  Discussion was held.

Discussion was held on the 2008 sponsorship program.

Darrell Kraupie moved to go into executive session at 9:01 AM.  Darrell Kraupie moved to come out of executive session at 9:40 AM.

Andy Wearin moved to cease negations with Dale D. Arensdorf because of the by-laws, seconded by Darrell Kraupie.  Motion carried.

Adam Cross moved to reimburse Lori Schafer for expenses incurred for the calendars in the amount of $1,000, seconded by Mark Lovitt.  Motion carried.

Any committee interested in hosting the 2009-10 state finals needs to contact Tricia Schaffer. 

Boyd Mignery and Dave Rethorst from the Hastings committee gave an update on the 2008 state finals and reported on the 2007 state finals.  Hastings would like to keep the same schedule for the 2008 state finals as we had for the 2007 state finals.

Tricia Schaffer moved to stay with the same judges and contractors for the 2008 state finals, seconded by Adam Cross. Motion carried.

Discussion was held to give members the opportunity to purchase our state finals jacket.   There would be a different jacket to recognize the national team.

The 2007 auction brought in $12,255 for the 2009 seniors.  There was $1,275 brought in scholarships for the 2008 seniors.  The Gold Buckle table brought in $860 (this is included in the auction total).

The National Mid Winter Meeting is January 23-27.  If anyone has any rule changes they would like suggested you need to have them to Tricia Schaffer by December 15, 2007.

Darrell Kraupie moved to pay the expenses for three student officers to the mid winter meeting and banquet, seconded by Kelli Blevins.  Motion carried.

Cindy Coffman moved to hold Amanda Overy’s scholarship until the balance is paid from her expenses at nationals, seconded by Tim Cover.  Motion carried.

Student president Sadie Cross reported that the student members would like to have cowboy prom again

Adam Cross moved to put the agenda and meeting dates in the fencepost and on the website, seconded by Tim Sierks.  Motion carried.

Tim Sierks moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Tim Cover.  Motion passed.
