Directors Meeting
February 4, 2007
The Nebraska High School Rodeo Association held their directors meeting Sunday, February 7, 2007 at Craig Haythorns. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Dale D. Arensdorf. Board members present were Mark Lovitt, Tricia Schaffer, Rita Dobbins, Lori Schafer, Darrell Kraupie, Kelli Blevins, J.D. Hoover, Adam Cross and Robin Meier. Secretary’s Nancy Edelman and Becky Dailey.
Student directors Shea Henderson, Destri Millsap, Jordan Lovitt, Duell Arensdorf, Cody Sierks, Brady Graff, Kelcee Dickman, Callie Schafer, Taryn Dobbins, Whitten Hoover, Cody Nichols.

Minutes of the January 7, 2007 minutes were read. Darrell Kraupie moved to approve the minutes as read, seconded by Adam Cross. Motion carried

Paul Cleveland met with the board and went over the current rules. Discussion was held on rodeo rules and supporting the judges decision.
Adam Cross moved to clarify the running out of turn order to read that the contestant running out of order will receive a NT; all other runs will stand as is, seconded by Rita Dobbins. Motion carried.
JD Hoover moved to pay $350 to each secretary for the state finals plus mileage, seconded by Robin Meier. Motion carried.
Tricia Schaffer presented to the scholarship committee the form that is used at the national level. The scholarship committee will take it under advisement.
Darrell Kraupie moved to purchase a six-month CD from the Hershey State Bank using the funds from the endowment fund leaving a minimum balance in the endowment checking account. Also, to add Loren Gorsuch to the account at Hershey State Bank, seconded by Adam Cross. Motion carried.
Break at 12:10 for Lunch. Reconvened at 1:00
Dave Rethorst reported on the 2007 state finals.
Discussion was held on having a joint BBQ on Saturday starting at 4:00 with all sponsors, contestants, and families. Plaque presentations for sponsors will be at 5:00 during the BBQ and senior night will start at 6:00
Dale D. Arensdorf signed the contract for the 2007 state finals.
Adam Cross moved to approve the bid from Tod Sloane for the 2007 state finals saddles, seconded by Rita Dobbins. Motion carried.
Tricia Schaffer, Shea Henderson and Destri Millsap reported on the national meeting.
Lori Schafer moved to add a $75 level in the incentive prizes for the 2008 calendar sales, seconded by Kelli Blevins. Motion carried.
Student directors present worked on awards for the state finals.
Rodeo approval committee met and approved the rodeos for the spring.
Adam Cross moved to pay Dale D. Arensdorf’s expenses incurred while selling sponsorships for $265.92, seconded by Lori Schafer. Motion carried.
Rita Dobbins moved to pay Tricia Schaffer’s expenses for the national meeting expenses for $1228.72, seconded by Lori Schafer. Motion carried. The expenses at nationals for the students, Shea Henderson and Destri Millsap was $776.00 and for national director, Tricia Schaffer it was $452.72, for a total of $1228.72.
Rita Dobbins moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Kelli Blevins. Motion carried.
